Biography
Sensei Nick was born in Brasov, Romania in 1964. He was impressed with martial arts from the early age, when he watched various martial arts documentary movies.
Sensei Nick immediately fell in love with karate, but it was forbidden in communist Romania.Anyone caught practicing karate would be persecuted by the authorities. So, Sensei Nick start studying judo—but he didn’t forget karate. Karate at that time was practiced in secrecy.Anyone wanting to be part of the karate group literally had to know somebody who knew somebody. It took Sensei Nick almost 2 years before he first was introduced to Shotokan-Karate, at the age 14, through an older friend.
Sensei Nick was completely blown away by the speed, power, flexibility, and control of his future Sensei. His passion for karate was so big that at the age of 17, he received his 1st degree black belt, becoming the youngest black belt in the country. For the first 3 years of his karate training, Sensei Nick never missed one
training session. After only 8 months of training, Sensei Nick was appointed by his Sensei to conduct classes for over 160 students, all white and yellow belts. Sensei Nick did not know how useful this would be in his future work.
In 1989, Sensei Nick moved to Denmark, where he continued his karate studies with JKA Europe (Japan Karate Association).
In 1995, Sensei Nick was appointed Chief Instructor for JKA Romania. In that year Sensei Nick opened his JKA organization in Romania.
In 1999, Sensei Nick moved to Las Vegas, where he continued to train with various karate masters. Today Sensei Nick holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in Shotokan-Karate. He is a certified USANKF Kumite judge, holds a brown belt in judo, and is the only authorized certified instructor with IKI (Israeli Krav International) in the state of Nevada. Sensei Nick is also a Certified Sports Nutritionist Consultant for several Martial Arts organizations such as IMA Colorado, IMA Utah and IMA Texas.
Sensei Nick has over 43 years teaching experience. He has taught in Romania, Denmark, and the USA, and he holds seminars in Romania, Canada, and the USA. His teaching program is tailored in a unique way for kids and adults of all ages.
